Punjab Minister Dhaliwal Holds Sixth Online Meeting to Address NRI Grievances; 123 Complaints Taken Up

NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal on Saturday conducted the sixth online meeting to listen to and address grievances of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from around the world. The meeting, held at the District Administrative Complex, saw a total of 123 complaints being discussed.

Officials present included DIG NRI Affairs Rajpal Singh Sandhu, Assistant Inspector General (NRI) Jagjit Singh Waila, and District Revenue Officer Navkirat Singh, among others.

Speaking at the event, Minister Dhaliwal highlighted that the Punjab government has been organizing monthly online sessions across the state to ensure timely resolution of issues faced by Punjabi NRIs. He assured that all 123 complaints received this time would be addressed before the next meeting scheduled for the following month.

Over the past six months, the department has received 658 complaints, of which all but 51—currently pending in courts—have been resolved. Dhaliwal encouraged NRIs to continue registering their concerns with the NRI Department, assuring them of full cooperation and no hurdles in filing complaints.

The initiative underscores Punjab’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its diaspora and addressing their issues promptly.
